The truth is I am afraid. Through the fear, I thought that I can walk away from it easily. I thought that if I was faced with the entrance of a pitch black cave, standing there as I listen to evil cries from within, the first thing I’d want to do is turn back and run away. Run back to the light. But I can’t. I can’t seem to get these feet to move. Something inside of my heart wants me to believe that there is nothing to worry about. That darkness is just a symbol of not knowing, and in order to know, you must step into what’s unknown. You’re sitting in there waiting for me but I can’t gather the courage to take a step. I am left standing here too afraid to get swallowed by the darkness, yet I am unable to walk away. I can’t do this alone, come out, and I will follow you back into the dark.
